Margaret Gibson Smith was born in 1825 in Paisly, Scotland. She was baptized into the LDS Church in 1846 and married John B. Smith in 1851 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. John and Margaret settled in Pine Canyon, Utah, today known as Lincoln, and had ten children. Margaret died in 1869 and John died in 1900.
